Since surfacing on the Kerri Chandler owned record label MadTech, and being acknowledged as the ‘Best Breakthrough DJ of 2013’ by DJ magazine, Citizenn’s attraction with house music has propelled him into an internationally renowned artist, with releases on Love Fever Records, 20:20 Vision and Crosstown Rebels.

Over the years, the London based imprint ABODE Records has built a reputation for providing a solid platform for new talent. It therefore comes as no surprise that the two have joined forces, with the highly acclaimed house DJ and producer Citizenn fabricating the four tracker EP ‘Say It Like You Mean It’. Releasing on October 21st, the EP conveys the flair accustomed to the dancefloor yet still has that deep cutting edge.

The EP commences with ‘Slide’, a track that has already become an integral part of a Citizenn set. With its liquid groove, energetic synths and somewhat warehouse ambiance, it sets the tone for the remainder of the EP. The talented House and Techno Producer Motel offers his own remix of ‘Slide’, creating a subtenant interpretation that maintains the vigour, whilst also adding a unique and revitalising element. Flip the side, and ‘Say It Like You Mean It’ encompasses the bouncing vibe with the ever present snare drums and electronic grooves. ‘Ladies Free B4 Midnight’ closes the EP with a combination of beautiful harmonised vocals and a dreamy, downtempo breakbeat prevalent throughout.
