New Prefuse 73 Single ‘Storms Over Raqqa’

Prefuse 73 news on Cone Magazine

After four years of silence, the Warp records veteran Prefuse 73 is back with a new single entitled Storms Over Raqqa.

Last month news surfaced of a wealth of new Prefuse 73 material to enter the public domain. He announced on his Facebook two EP’s and one LP. Rivington Nao Rio LP will be released May 12, Forsyth Gardens EP releases April 28,  and Every Color of Darkness EP July 14.

Released yesterday on the artists bandcamp, a new non-album, non-EP single entitled ‘Storms Over Raqqa’ has been uploaded alongside an exciting description saying “New records coming all year. This one’s free”.

Taking Prefuse 73 signature choppy, heavily sampled and frenetic style, he has now combined that with a dancehall influenced framework to create an interesting and unfamiliar sound.
