BADBADNOTGOOD have teamed up with Ghostface Killa to release Sour Soul, a collaborative LP that’s available to stream in its entirety above, in advance of its official release on 24 February.
The partnership marks a natural convergence of style between the Canadian jazz-hip-hop instrumentalists and Ghostface Killah, following his two live instrumental R&B-noir efforts, 12 Reasons to Die and 36 Seasons.
Although not his strongest lyrical effort, Tony Stark’s trademark conceptual narratives compliment the smoked out 1970s soul and funk melodics of BBND to faithfully evoke the seedy side of the Rotten Apple.
Highlights include “Ray Gun” featuring MF Doom and Six Degrees with Danny Brown.
