It has been confirmed by his label, that A$AP Yams has passed away.
Steven Rodriguez AKA Yams was born and grew up in Harlen NY. It was there he met A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz where the three of them started work on the formation of the A$AP Mob. It wasn’t until they met A$AP Rocky in 2008 that the group started to move leaps and bounds with further record deal signings in 2011 to Polo Grounds and RCA, alongside their debut album release ‘Trillmatic’ in 2013.
Yams decease comes with widespread grief from many notable and well respected figures, noting the influence and achievements Yams imposed whilst formulating one of hip hop’s most respected groups in current times.
