The young Cardiff house duo have delivered another solid record with their first appearance on label Rinse Recordings.
After a flurry of successful release from the likes of DJ Haus, XXXY and Hrdvision. Rinse continue to deliver with this new EP from Bodhi, which was released yesterday.
Bodhi have solidified themselves in the house scene, having delivered multiple commendable records on esteemed labels including Future Classic, Exploited and Ten Thousand Yen. Polysizer is no exception, peppered with sharp and punchy rhythms accompanied by ghostly synths, it’s another strong release from the Cardiff boys.
Polysizer kicks things off with a creeping sequence and cavernous sweeps before a thick bass tone swells into the mix. A harsh, no nonsense groove propels reverberated vocal chops ahead of a brooding breakdown before DP7 marries rough, swinging drums with churned up organ stabs in a manner that fans of I Need You will relish.
Haute is significantly more soulful, laying sheets of soft sax and vocal samples over gently tumbling piano chords and tight percussive shuffles which combine to draw this record to a smooth and satisfying conclusion. If Polysizer is anything to go by then Bodhi are definitely one to watch.
