“The Promise of Sublime Words” is a new photography project created by Polish visual artist Ewa Doroszenko.
Residing in Warsaw, Doroszenko has received countless awards and scholarships for her work, and this becomes immediately obvious upon first viewing of her latest project “The Promise of Sublime Words”.
The aim of Ewa’s project, which initially began during her studies in Art History, “was to show my favourite statues as objects, which arouse ambiguous associations.” She goes onto to further explain; “I tried to distort the usual view of sculptures and finally destabilise a natural sense of order…..On the one hand the cycle draws on my private fascinations and on the other, it is a reflection on the usage of photographic material in post-internet times. From a compositional perspective, the work is an interplay between well-established genres such as Portrait and Still Life.“
