From the organisers of the legendary Concrete Parties comes a 3 day Parisian festival featuring some of electronic music’s best DJs.
For two years, Paris’ Weather Festival has welcomed the greatest artists of the international electronic music scene and revitalised several districts and areas of Paris (Palais des Congrès in Montreuil, Arab World Institute, Parc des Expositions in Le Bourget, Ile Seguin, the Pompidou Center…). With over 35,000 participants, Weather festival is the largest Parisian electronic music festival of its day.
The festival has recently announced it will be split into an On and Off schedule, with 11 days of organised events. For the Off Week, the event organisers have announced a new collaboration with Technopole to host conferences, workshops, debates, master classes… in Parisian venues selected for their charm and their work around digital art and new music. Also included in this week will be an “Open to all” family-friendly alfresco children’s festival, with Vogue Dancing classes reminiscent of Paris is Burning documentary.
The On Week will be the three day main event, utilising a 250,000 square meter outdoor surface in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes.
To kick off proceedings, legendary Detroit techno DJ Derrick May will make his first appearance in France, and to be accompanied by Francesco Tristano, Dzijan Emin and a philharmonic orchestra!
On day 2 Vatican Shadow, Ron Morelli and Lowjack team up for a live show together. On the same day, but spread across four stages, Netherlands Xosar will perform Live, whilst Ben Klock, Len Faki and Borderland represent Germany. Marcellus Pittman will do a back to back set with Motor City Drum Ensemble, before Floating Points graces the crowd with his expert track selection. Also worth noting, legendary synth manipulator and composer Matthew Herbert will perform a rare live show (which we at Cone are hugely excited about).
The foot certainly remains on the pedal for day 3, with Marcel Dettmann, Adventice (DJ Deep & Roman Poncet), Steffi and Lil Louis performing live. Local DJ Apollonia will surely bring a huge following to the spring stage, whilst UK techno tag-team Blawan & Pariah perform under their alias Karenn.
