Alongside their highly regarded mix series and history for bringing some of the most exciting underground talent to London, Lucid now team up with the vinyl only party starters Soul Control for an expertly programmed evening of electronic music.
Taking over two floors of the 120 year old multi level warehouse space at Peckham’s Bussey Building, the two party starters will host what is set to be a show-stopping evening. On the first floor, Glenn Astro will rub shoulders with Eglo records founder Alexander Nut for two stand-out headline performances. Astro’s recent ‘Yard Work Simulator’ LP with close friend Max Graef has been well received by critics, and is just a further nod to his ability to manipulate dance floors with his brand of absorbing soulful house and hip hop. Alexander Nut, who’s label has represented the likes of Floating Points and Fatima has an encyclopaedic knowledge of music and a record collection to back that up.
Following his 2015 release on Blip Discs which received strong recognition from RA, O’Flynn is quickly breaking onto the gigging circuit with his portrait of loose, african-influenced grooves, and will conclude the full line-up for the first floor.
Soul Control will take over the second floor, bringing in London based broken beat pioneer IG Culture and Bugz in the Attic veteran Kaidi Tatham. Thrist Tian (who’s journey began with an apprenticeship at Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings) is the head of music for Boiler Room, which is real testament to his ability as a selector. Melodica Records’ Ben Hauke rounds out this weighty evening of high end curation.
