Last year we hosted an evening of talks looking at the various professions within the music industry. Today we’re officially launching our new series called ‘The Professionals’.
To celebrate the launch of this new series, we’re unearthing archival footage of our talks from last year, before bringing ourselves up to date. And so to get the ball rolling, here is a talk we held with Bristolian record label and record store owner Chris Farrell. Chris runs Idle Hands, a record store nestled within the artisan underbelly of Bristol, that also doubles up as a record label too.
In this talk, our host Jenny Pearce looks at the journey Chris has taken in establishing Idle Hands. The tough decisions he’s had to make along the way, the ups and downs too often felt in this trade, and some advice for any budding entrepreneurs looking to move into this area.
