Bodhi shares some of their favourite tracks with us

Cone joins Bodhi for a track selection

We catch up with Bodhi, two of Cardiff’s fastest rising DJ’s from the underground electronic music scene, to give us their track selection run down.

2014 was a busy year for Bodhi, touring the states for two weeks and playing at Love Saves the Day, before appearing at the intimate Welsh music festival in the woods Gottwood.

The Cardiff dance scene has really developed in recent years, what with the intimate Studio 89 nights under the noodle bar, and Treatment booking heavy weight DJ’s to play out in inventive locations much like Backrooms bank vault raves of yester-year.

26 year olds Olly Howells and Luke Welsby expertly craft soulful jacking house records that are timeless in themselves. Releasing records on Exploited, 2020 Vision, Future Classic & Ten Thousand Yen, the pair have carved themselves a globally recognised identity for highly polished dance floor ready records that never seize to fail the crowd.

With their latest 80’s infused release 88, appearing on Bristol’s Krywolf V/A compilation for Food Music, as well as returning for a forthcoming appearance at Bristol’s Love Saves the Day festival, we catch up with the pair for a track selection session.

Hi guys. To set things off, what track can’t you stop listening to at the moment?

Which song do you wish you had produced?

Which track always saves the dance floor?

Which track reminds you of your youth?

Which track helps you to deal with anything?

You take a hot new date back to yours, what do you put on?

What is your desert island song?

What’s your favourite pop record of all time?

Olly: Most of MJ’s back catalogue

Peter: This would have to be our favourite MJ record…

Is there a track you feel is going undeserved?

And finally, name us a pre-90’s wonder track?

Peter: Thats great guys, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.

Bodhi will be performing at the Marble Factory in Bristol on the 21st March alongside Shadow Child. £15 tickets are still available here. And make sure to catch them at this years Love Saves the Day festival 23rd May.
