Reports of new iPhone design spell fear to thousands of businesses

In a recent report from the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal the next iPhone will have a curved screen alongside some other significant design changes.

Most notably the touch sensor as part of the home screen button is to be integrated into the screen itself, removing the need for a home button and instead having the entire front panel self contained.

The move comes with longstanding legislative tensions. The volatility of the screen’s design, which is susceptible to smashing upon minor impacts, is also an integral part of thousands of repair shops business model. Through Apple establishing this new design, a monopolisation of iPhone repairs will be established, unquestionably coming with new increased costs to the consumer.
