Dalai Lama to appear at Glastonbury 2015

Dalai Lama at Glastonbury on Cone Magazine

The now deleted post on the Dalai Lama’s official webpage read, “His Holiness will give a talk at the Glastonbury Festival in the morning,”. This post has been deleted under speculation that the organisers would potentially want to keep this bombshell under wraps until closer to the date.

The Tibetan Buddhism head monk and key influential figure in spiritualism and philosophy will be appearing for a talk at Kempton racecourse in Middlesex the following day, increasing the likelihood of this speculation.

Glastonbury festival is based in Somerset, UK, and is revered as one of the worlds most respected festivals, attracting influential and prolific individuals year on year.  Started in 1970, the day after Jimi Hendrix’s death, the festival was much smaller than it is now, only attracting a crowd of 1500. Since then, its roots in bohemian culture speak to people from all corners of the globe, selling each year 177,000 tickets, often causing the sales web portal to crash from traffic.

So far, the only confirmed act for the 2015 lineup is soul icon Lionel Richie
