7 Moments That Show DJ AG Is Changing the Game

DJ AG

If you’re new here, Ashley Gordon—also known as DJ AG—is a Black DJ from Tottenham, London, who has spent the last few years cultivating an online community. Known by the slogan “London DJ making a difference,” he’s built his reputation DJ’ing on the streets of Jamaica, London, and New York.

In 2022, AG began livestreaming on his personal TikTok account. “Since then, he’s brought on major celebrities like Will Smith, Ciara, and Craig David, racking up thousands of views across TikTok and YouTube. This summer, he performed for massive crowds at festivals like Wireless, Boomtown, and Carnival.

While most people know him as the charismatic DJ creating space for old-school MCs and emerging talent, AG actually started out as an MC himself. His talent is wide-ranging, and his dedication to community shines through everything he does.

In 2022, AG quit his corporate job to pursue live streaming on TikTok full-time. It was a risky jump, with no guarantee of sustainability. The odds were stacked against him. Yet just three years later, he’s hit major milestones, earns thousands per month, and—most importantly—has created countless memories.

Uniting people from all walks of life, AG fosters a genuine community rooted in nothing but a pure love for music. With no sponsorships or partnerships, he focuses entirely on the people, curating authentic and innovative content. Here are seven moments that prove DJ AG is truly in it for the culture.

1. JME & Skepta Roll Out

You know things are about to get real when JME and Skepta show up. In Oct. 2024, the Tottenham-raised brothers rolled into Kings Cross, London, to join DJ AG’s livestream. Compared to some of his recent videos, this one drew one of the smallest crowds he’s ever pulled. But that’s exactly what made it so incredible.

JME and Skepta jumped on the mic, spitting some of their realest bars for an intimate crowd. The energy was electric, even in a small space, proving just how much community matters. Numbers, fame, or money couldn’t compete with the raw connection captured that day. Despite the modest turnout, the video racked up over 82k likes on Instagram, showing that moments this genuine connect far beyond the crowd behind a screen.

2. The Time He Gave Granny the Spotlight

This video ranks in the top three of DJ AG’s live-stream moments. Behind the DJ booth, an elderly woman—affectionately dubbed “granny”—stole the show. Whether it’s the genuine joy in her dance moves or the dangerously funny side eye she threw when someone shouted “go granny,” this moment speaks volumes.

From the moment she set down her walking stick to the second she raised her hand to start dancing, the video captures a truly wholesome moment. It shows the power of live music and how it brings people together. You may laugh now, but deep down… we all have a bit of granny in us. Her energy proves that age can’t stop the music or the fun.

3. The Time He Brought out Will Smith

Kings Cross has become a go-to spot for AG’s craft. In June, Will Smith stopped by London for a cameo on his channel. The actor and rapper took the mic, rapping along to the Men in Black theme song while young kids in suits danced their hearts out behind him.

Hundreds of people showed up, phones in hand. IIt’s not every day Brits get to see one of America’s highest-paid stars, after all. The moment was iconic for the fans, but also monumental for AG’s channel. It marked one of the biggest artists he’s hosted to date. Will Smith’s cultural relevance may be debated, but his status as an icon is undeniable.

4. Making his Debut at Boomtown Festival ft. Lady Leshurr

Whenever someone in the UK says “The people’s princess,” the first name that comes to mind is, of course, Princess Diana. But the second should be Lady Leshurr. In 2014, the MC dominated the grime scene with her quick-witted lyrics and razor-sharp one-liners.

In August, DJ AG made his Boomtown debut and surprised the crowd by bringing out Lady Leshurr for a surprise performance. No one expected the collaboration—especially since she had her own set that weekend as well. But the energy in the venue was unmatched. By bringing Lady Leshurr out unexpectedly, AG turned a surprise moment into a masterclass in talent and crowd energy.

5. The Time He Visited Harewood House Care Home

AG regularly visits care homes, but one video stands out. During his visit to Harewood House: Care Home in Berkshire, he played alongside Lascelles James, the musician best known for his work with the reggae-funk group Boney M.

Having once toured the world with one of reggae’s biggest bands, seeing Lascelles suited up with a tie and shiny saxophone at the ready was deeply cathartic. Growing old can often feel daunting, but in this video, nothing feels frail. It’s quietly joyful, full of excitement, and overflowing with passion. Whether it’s granny dancing behind a DJ booth or legends playing in a care home, music keeps the spirit young.

6. Playing alongside a Violinist in Jamaica

A deck and a violin aren’t instruments you’d normally pair, but in this video, they came together in perfect harmony. In the heart of Jamaica’s local community, DJ AG spun a soulful reggae instrumental while a stranger effortlessly plucked his violin. The encounter was unexpected, yet completely blissful.

There was no crowd this time, and that made it even more calming. There was no audience to perform for—just two music lovers caught in the moment, creating magic together. AG is constantly discovering new talent and using his platform to share it. Even when these sessions were live-streamed, they never felt performative. The energy was real, no matter the audience size. This moment in Jamaica was raw, refreshing, and unforgettable.

7. The Time he Opened up About his Monthly Earnings

Earlier this year, AG revealed that he earns less money DJing than he does live-streaming from home. Even so, AG has continued doing his outdoor live streams for more than two years. Explaining why he hasn’t signed a major brand deal yet, he put it simply: “Not all money is good money. Not all deals are the right deals to take. Everything is about time. For me, money isn’t the main factor.”

It takes a lot to prioritize passion over pay, especially when the work brings joy to thousands. And that’s exactly what DJ AG is doing.

In just a few years, DJ AG has created something extraordinary in the London community and shared his passion for music with fans of all ages worldwide. In 2025 alone, he expanded his reach by thousands, welcomed major special guests and gave back to his community in countless ways.

Next year, he’s set to take things even further. He recently announced plans to launch his own festival, promising even more unforgettable moments. No one can predict where he’ll go next, but if the past few years have shown us anything, he’s in it for the long haul—and the fans are here for it.
