Jeff Koons’ ‘Coloring Book’ Sells For $13.2M

Jeff Koons‘ latest sculpture entitled ‘Coloring Book’ sells for $13.2M USD at a charity event for AIDS research in Cannes.

American sculptor and fine artist Jeff Koons created the 18 1/2 foot piece to be auctioned off at this years amfAR event ‘Cinema Against AIDS‘ as part of his Celebration Series. Previous works of his have soared into the high millions such as his ‘Balloon Dog (Orange)‘ which sold for $58.4M USD in 2013, making it the most expensive work of art sold at auction by a living artist. A high amount of celebrities were on show for the auction in Cannes with many of the works being auctioned off donated, such as a Banksy piece given by Leonardo DiCaprio which sold for more than a signed Picasso. In total the event made more than $30M USD or the organisation.
