Film Poster Designs By Tomer Hanuka

Tomer Hanuka: The Shining

We take a look at the works of Tomer Hanuka and in particular his movie posters.

If you are familiar with the illustration and graphic arts scene, then Tomer Hanuka and his work would be something of familiarity, if not then you’re in for a real treat. The legendary Israeli artist has been around for the best of 10 years now, continuing to create amazing editorial and illustrative work within the comic and graphic arts scene with his client list looking like something most artist would only ever dream of. Big names within the field such as Rolling Stone, Marvel Comics, Nike, Universal Pictures, The New Yorker and even Playboy. It actually seems that theres not too many people that Tomer hasn’t worked for or collaborated with and if the Playboy bachelor himself see’s fit to use his work then you have to think that maybe he’s doing something right.

In particular, Tomer is well known for his take on movie poster design including works for Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. His vibrant and enchanting style of thin solid line contrasted with bold, perfectly chosen colour and tone captures the mood of each film in one still image with ease. If Tomer’s work wasn’t good enough, his twin brother Asaf isn’t too shy of producing his own masterpieces as the two have even paired up with writer Boaz Lavie on producing their illustrated graphic novel ‘The Divine‘ which is set to be released on July 14th. If, like me you’re a fan of artistic books and comics you wont sleep on this as the extremely high demand and popularity of this project goes without saying.
