Another weekend gone, and another killer festival Lineup has been announced.
Undoubtedly ready to make us choke and squeal with delight. The Dutch giants at Dekmantel return to transform the Amsterdamse Bos into their musical playground, for the 4th edition of the yearly festival. Dekmantel 2K16 looks to be “meticulously shaping up”.
This year’s program is all about “fine-tuning small yet imminent details”. With the line-up that oozes in charisma, Dekmantel will be dishing out the primest cuts of left field acts that the dance genre has to offer. Ricardo Villalobos, Joy Orbison, Ben UFO, Moodymann, Digital Mystikz, Dixon; all, and many more will be playing across the twofold bill of Day and Night programmes. Dekmantel by Day will be taking place at the idyllic Amsterdamse Bos camping park. By Night, we’ll head north to the iconic Melkweg concert hall for the all inclusive party experience, featuring coiling hallways and 4 separate dance spaces.
Alongside the majestic Muziekgebouw, EYE film institute, Tolhuistuin and neighbouring Bimhuis venues make welcomed additions as venues for the opening concerts, all of which will be accessible by a free ferry service. Nice nice. These spectacular venues will be playing host to a series of killer live performances. Including the Afrobeat master Tony Allen and his band, renowned Dub Veteran that is Mr Lee Scratch Perry (alongside Adrian Sherwood). There’s even a psychedelic visual performance from James Holden & Camilo Tirado’s new show ‘Outdoor Museum of Fractals’.
With 150 acts ready to take the stage, and more opening shows to be announced, Dekmantel is shaping up to a delectably sonic treat for this summer.
