With a focus on authenticity and creativity, we strive to engage our audience through thought-provoking content and compelling storytelling.

Job Description

CONE Magazine is seeking a contract Social Media Manager to join our team. The Social Media Manager will develop and execute our social media strategy to connect with our audience and drive engagement across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for identifying and highlighting talented creators across multiple forms of art (music, film, brands/designers, etc) along with deep knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and trends. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute CONE Mag’s social media strategy in alignment with our brand identity. This will include coordinating social media posts concurrent with, and supplementary to, new site content (ie. exclusive interviews, festival/event recap videos & pictures, feature stories, etc)
  • Create unique, authentic and engaging content across our social media channels (primarily Instagram and Twitter, but we will be expanding to other platforms in the near term). Engage with, and grow, CONE Mag’s following – focused on passionate music fans, independent film enthusiasts, small/niche designers & brands as well as creators themselves (small/mid sized artists, photographers, directors/producers, etc)
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with artists, industry professionals and other influential tastemakers across the various social platforms to expand our reach and visibility. This can be done through direct partnerships, cross-posting and/or general engagement and collaborations
  • Manage promotion and coordination of product sales from the CONE Mag shop. Our store sells >10,000 limited edition and exclusive vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes and band merchandise. We sell direct through our site, but also through social media channels like Instagram and Facebook
  • Actively engage with our audience, respond to comments and messages, and foster a sense of community and excitement around our content


Qualifications

  • Experience in social media management, preferably in the music, film, or design industry
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Instagram and Twitter. Experience creating and managing social campaigns
  • Ability to create compelling and on-brand content and engage with audiences in an authentic fashion
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and basic graphic design skills are a plus
